Science experiments with food 2

Involving children in all aspects of food is important. It’s great life skills and learning. Getting the children helping can be even more important when they are hesitant or uncomfortable around food.

For children who do struggle to eat, it can be difficult to interact comfortably with food, particularly when the emphasis is on eating.

I love ways to involve children that are low pressure. Doing this away from the dinner table is often the best way to manage this.

Interaction is a key way to build comfort around food and not having the end goal as eating often makes this achievable for even the most hesitant of children.

In the last blog I listed some science experiments that are fun to do with children of all ages. You can check that out here: https://theconfidenteater.com/blog/other/science-experiments-with-food/

In this blog I continue with more ideas, many really simple, that you can test out at home.

These are also good ways to keep the children entertained during the holidays or on wet weekends. Older children can do them independently too!
