25 Vegetable snacks for fussy eaters

Vegetables and fussy eating are not words that generally go together. However, picky eaters can and do eat veggies. And importantly, the more often you serve them the more your child has the opportunity to eat them.

If you have a child who does not eat veggies yet, serving them regularly is an important part of learning to accept them. The more we see foods, the more comfortable we become with them.

However, many parents tell me they have been serving veggies for a long time and are still not seeing positive results. If this is the case, there are a few things to bear in mind:

1. Revise the approach. Changing how your child reacts to veggies is important. Making sure there is not open hostility is step one (this is not about eating vegetables, it’s about being positive about them!)

2. Serve consistently. Think of the veggies like a book, they do need to be there repeatedly. Consistently having veggies available is foundational in building an eventual acceptance of them.

3. It’s a process. Learning to eat veggies may be a long-term project. Think about the five years we read to a child without them reading one word back to us.
